Inventor Kurzweil Aiming to Live Forever

While immortality is unlikely through nanobot techniques, extended lifespan- we’re talking hundreds of years, and not as a doddering wreck- is well within the capabilities of such technology. The inventor of the first synthesizer that was capable of playing sampled sounds, Ray Kurzweil, who is also a technology author, believes that at least major extension- say, to 150 years- should be available within 20 years from now.

Kurzweil is on a very strict diet, and follows a very strict exercise regimen. He is a diabetic, but controls his disease through diet and exercise. I have to confess that my father thinks he might make it too. He certainly shows every sign of making 100 without straining himself much.

Kinda puts a whole new spin on population control, doesn’t it?
